THE BASICS

Deborah’s School of Dance offers classes in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and pointe dance styles.

The dance season starts in September and ends with an annual recital in early May.

Dancers must be at least three years old to begin classes. We understand that dance class can be scary at first for our tiniest dancers, so we are willing to work with you on a trial period to make sure it’s going to work before you invest in attire and more than one month’s tuition.

Students will attend classes one day per week during their assigned class time. Classes are taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Cherokee, and on Mondays and Wednesdays in Storm Lake.

Students will be put in a class with other students who are similar in age and/or ability.

Our classes are set up to ensure that our students get a well-rounded dance education. Students are expected to take all core dance styles. Our pre-school students start off by taking just ballet to learn the basics and technique. As they get older, we then add our other dance styles to their schedule, as opposed to picking classes “a la carte.” Students will attend all of their classes on one determined day and time every week.
